Fuel System

Honda has done a great job of matching its fuel systems to the stock power output of its naturally aspirated engines. However, for most readers of HT, increasing the power output is a primary goal. For the sort of modifications that are usually done to naturally aspirated engines, the stock Honda fuel system has plenty of excess capacity, and works very well. Most power upgrades for naturally aspirated engines can be handled by an increase to the next largest injector size and some form of engine management to keep the car from over fueling at part throttle. Forced induction, not surprisingly, requires more extensive changes to the system.

The goal of this article is to give you a close look at the fundamentals of delivering fuel from the tank to the cylinders, and some things that you can do to improve the fuel flow.
